In March, soprano Kateřina Kněžíková will perform with the Bamberg Symphony under the baton of their Chief Conductor Jakub Hrůša. Antonín Dvořák’s monumental oratorio Stabat Mater will be presented in Bamberg and subsequently at the Golden Hall of the Vienna Musikverein. The concert on March 22 will be recorded by BR for radio and broadcast on April 1 on the BR-KLASSIK station as part of the ARD-Konzert program series.
Kateřina Kněžíková returns to the Bamberg Symphony following several successful guest appearances in previous seasons. Her interpretations of Dvořák’s sacred music are among her signature repertoire, and she regularly performs Stabat Mater at major European venues.
On 22 March, Bamberg will host Dvořák’s deeply emotional oratorio Stabat Mater, a monumental sacred work for soloists, choir, and orchestra. The performance will feature the prestigious Wiener Singverein. The soloists will include mezzo-soprano Jarmila Vantuchová, tenor Daniel Matoušek, and bass Jan Hnyk, all distinguished representatives of the Czech and Slovak vocal scene.
The same artistic line-up will present the programme again on 26 March as part of the Bamberg Symphony’s prestigious residency at the Golden Hall of the Vienna Musikverein.
