Lucie Kaňková will sing the Queen of the Night in six cities during tour in Japan

The Czech coloratura soprano Lucie Kaňková is going on tour with the Hungarian State Opera, which will export its production of Mozart’s Magic Flute.

The demanding role of the Queen of the Night in Mozart’s opera The Magic Flute will take the Czech coloratura soprano on a tour of Japan. She is embarking on it with the Hungarian State Opera and the first performance will take place on October 28 in the city of Tsu, and then Lucie will perform in the cities of Osaka, Yokosuka, Tokyo, Musashino and Ina . “We  come back on November 14, so I hope that in the meantime I will have time to see the sights and museums and taste the local gastronomy,” says Lucie, who is an increasingly sought-after interpreter of this difficult role. In addition to Japan, she sings the Queen of the Night regularly in Prague’s Estates Theater, in Germany, Switzerland, Slovakia and Belgium.
